[Pink eyes trailed over the words. There was a certain beauty to it that he truly appreciated. It brought a smile to his lips that was warm and nothing like the mask that he usually wore.]
I like it. There's an elegance to how it shows us how much really rests before us.
[Shifting the paper back, he regards his work a little longer, letting the words mingle together with what Daihannya has said. He enjoys it, sitting here together like this. Musing over such inconsequential things.]
Ah, yes. And what lays behind.
[Settling the brush into a groove that was made for it in the palette, he settles the whole thing to the floor and finally gives Daihannya his proper attention.]
Now. There's another kind of poetry you'd like to attend to? [He's eyeing the flower as he says so.]
Well I do admit I was a little curious what you might come up with on your own.
[But still he smiles. He's not about to turn him down.
Reaching out instead, he takes hold of the stem to twirl the blossom in place. The light of a moon on the rise plays off the petals with a subtle iridescent sheen that would only be washed out during the day. It had taken him a while to discover that this was the sort of light it favored best.]
[Moving around, he slips behind Mikazuki so that his legs wrap around him and his arms can hold him close. His chin rests on his shoulder as he watches the way the flower catches the dim lighting around them.]
At first I thought of something involving beauty but that somehow lacks the depth of what I feel we share.
How terrible of me. To steal your attention from your clients all night.
[Though the way he submerges himself in the affection, leaning back and threading his arms together with Daihannya's, it's clear he doesn't feel a single ounce of guilt at all. The flower merely rests in front of his face, concealing his amusement.]
[He leans in so he can press a kiss to his neck. Obviously he's not upset by the distraction.]
I like to think we're like our water garden. Beautiful on the surface and admired by all who see us. But our lives are under the surface of the water, sharing the soil that hides beneath as our roots entwine.

I thought that we should be together when we decide the meaning of this one. It seems the most appropriate.
[Daihannya smiles at him.]
What do you think?

Are you familiar with it?

How, then, would you describe it? What we share.
